set This is the protobuf:std metapackage. It pulls in all subpackages of protobuf:std.
primary Protocol Buffers are a way of encoding structured data in an efficient yet extensible format. Google uses Protocol Buffers for almost all of its internal RPC protocols and file formats.
dev This is the developer subpackage of the protobuf:std port. It may contain headers, pc files, static and PIC libraries and SO links.
